 The mission of the Shafallah Medical Genetics Center is the provision of high quality medical genetics and educational services and the pursuit of fundamental knowledge by fostering an active research enterprise. 

Vision

The Shafallah Medical Genetics Center is a state-of-the-art genetics center dedicated to the welfare of children with special health-care and educational needs and their families in Qatar. The center sustains the provision of high quality medical genetics services, as well as professional and community-based education. The center pursues fundamental knowledge by fostering active research that can be applied to reduce the burdens of illness and disability. The center serves as a model for comprehensive and integrated genetic health-care services in the Middle East and the world.

Goals

1.      Providing comprehensive high-quality clinical and molecular diagnostic services, taking advantage of the latest advances in technology and implementing the highest standards of treatment and counseling. 

2.      Implementing and sustaining research protocols in human genetics by fostering interactions and collaborations amongst geneticists and health-care workers at the national, regional and international levels. 

3.      Providing professional training and education in all disciplines of medical genetics at the medical, graduate and postdoctoral levels, as well as the education of the community on the relevance and importance of genetics in health-care.
