The department of Medical Genetics is the provider of health-care services, as it pertains to genetic disorders and birth defects, to the children of the Shafallah Center and its related institutions, as well as their families. The department provides a clinical diagnostic service, management and follow-up and a counseling service, all directed to the children and their families. The department also provides continued education and training of physicians, counselors and nurses in the care of genetic disorders. Within its scope of services, the department offers the clinical phenotypic delineation of subjects for the purpose of research conducted in the Department of Molecular Genetics.
